ADR International have joined forces in partnership with United World Schools (UWS) to support the employment and training of community teachers in some of the world’s poorest regions across Cambodia, Nepal, and Myanmar to give every child access to free education. For every purchase by our clients of OPRA (ADR’s eLearning) we will make a further donation to UWS; in this way our clients too are supporting the education of children living in some of the world’s poorest and most remote communities.
ADR are proud to support UWS to recruit, train and support teachers in Cambodia/Nepal/Myanmar, who reach c.100 children each. UWS recruit, train and develop teachers from within local communities to work alongside government teachers. Community teachers are vital to provide an inclusive education in indigenous communities. As a direct result, student attendance and retention are improved, the links between the community and school are strengthened, indigenous cultures are protected and local capacity is built ensuring the future success of the school.

But the hard work does not stop here; UWS plan to provide a life-changing education to 250,000 out-of-school children over the next decade. However, building a school is just the starting point. UWS then needs to equip children, teachers and community members with the skills and learning resources they need to reach their full potential. This enables UWS to stand with them in the long-term, creating sustainable change to improve the lives of generations of children.
