Skills assessment tailored to the sourcing process
ADR were selected by HSBC to design and deliver an online skills assessment for its global procurement community. The skills assessment would be tailored to the sourcing process of HSBC and would need to be English as well as in local language for colleagues in Thailand, China and Turkey.
HSBC wished to understand the procurement skills profile of its global team in order to map the varied roles around the organization and to contribute to the planning of learning and development activities.
ADR worked with HSBC to understand the existing competency framework and the relevant processes, policies and ways of working that would be relevant to the skills assessment. ADR used its DNA question library to select appropriate topics and questions suited to the varied roles and proficiency levels of the team, and adapted and created new questions to address any specific HSBC topics and operating procedures. The skills assessment was piloted and then rolled out globally in multiple languages.
HSBC received an extensive profile of current skills and capability gaps. The information helped HSBC to have a deeper understanding of their people development needs and informed the talent management strategy of the organization.
